#muscicapidae . It has three distinct morphs namely Picata , Capistrata and Opistholeuca. This one is Picata morph, Primarily blackish with white belly, rump, under tail-coverts and base and sides of tail.
This is a bold predatory owl,which is at the top of the bird food chain in its forested range. It also consumes an array of mammals, from small rodents to large prey such as adults of jackals, Indian civets, Indian giant squirrel, Indian flying fox, juvi langur and small deer.
