Science predicts based on data and Issues advisory accordingly. This is human denialism which, leads to such disasters. Many of use define the things based on our convenience rather than the facts. We are somewhere responsible for the climate change and related disasters.
In delhi and other big cities I don't think so we should use our own vehicles. Public transport is so easily available. Don't laugh at youngsters if they don't know how to ride a motorcycle or car. They are much better than you in this case. Pl think of climate change.

instead of predicting a 3rd wave time line for entire country (complex), we should classify each districts as high, moderate or low wrt to the probability of third wave in the next 14 days.. our models then can be more useful....

Upskilling is underrated in academic science careers. Picking up new research tools, improving pedagogical skills, science writing beyond manuscripts, etc. The term gets push back (it may reflect the 'corporatization' of academia), but the message is relevant.
