Is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that good tactically, or does he rely on his players' individual brilliance to win games?pic.twitter.com/y9qrgPtdcB
One of United’s [recurring] issues when in possession is that players end up occupying the same line — that’s forwards i.e the same horizontal line and that’s fullbacks i.e the same vertical line. It doesn’t give room for rotation or movement. Pre-coached patterns would help.
I hear a lot of ‘Wan-Bissaka should cross more’ — and yes, he should *but* we ourself as a team don’t create/practice good situations for players to cross to. Not enough players in the box or overlaps disrupting the defensive line. It loses possession.
United’s lack of instruction in buildup and an inadequate double pivot was a disaster combo — in and out of possession. Matic should be positioned to receive after Fred, yet occupies the same space. AWB should be in closer proximity.pic.twitter.com/L0W6t9C8ks
