#HumberBridge officially opened. I was there for weekly paper. Media crossed on a bus. BBC’s Bill Hamilton (also a Scot) was next to me on front seat. As we crossed I leant forward. Bill sd, “What are you doing?” “Being first Scot to cross!” I replied.
40 years ago today at the opening of the Humber Bridge, the Queen told little me that she liked my dress. I told her my granny made it and it was ‘too itchy’. Still the best bridge, though.
